English: The lullaby in the Arabic language is based on a fourteenth century historical incident, which took place in Lebanon. This little story is told in song, and is meant to express the love of a father and mother for their children, as well as the danger they will risk in order to get a child out of trouble. A textual transcription of this song, in English and entitled "Lebanese Lullaby," forms part of this collection. Mr. Nicholas Debs came to the United States in 1920.

Elle exprime l'amour d'un père et d'une mère pour leurs enfants, et les dangers qu'ils affrontent pour les garder en sécurité.
